Welcome to MetroSouth Medical Center. Our goal is to provide information about our patient services to help make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Additional information is also available in the Admissions Packet you receive when you register.
TDD System
A portable TDD is available for hearing- and speech-impaired patients who are hospitalized by contacting the MetroSouth operator.
Interpreter Services
For Patients Who Speak a Language Other Than English
MetroSouth employees who speak a second language are available to provide assistance and translation in a number of languages, including Spanish.
AT&T Language Line Service is also available for informed consent procedures.
For Hearing and/or Speech Impaired
The following services are available:
- Sign language interpreter
- TTY / TDD (Teletypewriter / Telecommunications Device for the Deaf)
- Assistive listening devices and telephone amplifiers
If you need interpreter services, please tell your Registration Representative when you are admitted to the hospital.
Spiritual Care
MetroSouth Medical Center provides spiritual care and emotional support for our patients and their families. Our chaplains and spiritual care team honor and respect all faith traditions. Spanish-language spiritual care is also available. We serve our patients in many ways, including:
Sacramental ministry
Support through prayer, listening and counseling
Family support
Assistance with Advance Directives (Power of Attorney / Living Will for Health Care).
Communicating with a patient’s Faith Community.
Due to confidentiality, we cannot call a patient’s church, synagogue or mosque to inform them of an admission. However, patients and family members are free to notify their faith community.
The Spiritual Care Office is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Chaplains can be contacted in emergency situations through the nursing staff.
Our Chapel is located on the 1st Floor and is open 24 hours a day. A Meditation Room is located on the Ground Level. It is also available 24 hours a day.
