Dr. John Awah

Dr. John Awah is a family medicine physician at MetroSouth Health Center at Avalon Park. Dr. Awah graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School in Accra, Ghana. Before coming to the Chicago area, Dr. Awah worked in hospitals in Ghana and the United Kingdom. During this time, he also taught clinical skills to students in the University Hospital in Cardiff, UK. After moving to the United States, he was completed his residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital. Currently, Dr. Awah is passionate about the prevalence of osteoporosis in Chicago’s African-American community. Outside of the office, he enjoys cooking, rugby, and golf.
