About our program

MetroSouth Medical Center’s Cardiology Program is nationally recognized for its advanced cardiac care, including open-heart surgery as well as coronary and peripheral stenting, with state-of-the-art catheterization and electrophysiology labs. MetroSouth Medical Center, through its predecessor  St. Francis Hospital, was among the first in Chicago to offer angioplasty, a minimally invasive procedure for opening narrowed vessels in the heart. Since then, more than 15,000 angioplasties and more than 12,000 open heart surgeries have been performed at MSMC.

If you have heart disease and want a second opinion or are at risk for heart disease, call a MetroSouth Medical Center cardiologist at 708-489-7925.
